This 5-year plan for public health improvement in the South Heartland District was approved by the Board of Health on September 10, 2008.

Goal 1:  Promote Healthy Living through Physical Activity, Nutrition and Safety

Goal 2:  To Inform Area about Mental Health and Wellness and to Facilitate Access to Appropriate Services
Goal 3:  To Prevent and Control Oral Diseases, Conditions,and Injuries and Improve Access to Related Services
Goal 4:  To Reduce Illness, Disability and Death caused by Lung, Breast, Prostate, and Colon Cancer
Goal 5:  To Reduce the Illness, Disability, and Death related to Substance Abuse  (Drug, Alcohol, Tobacco, Prescription Drug)
Goal 6:  To Reduce the Health Impact of Environmental Hazards
