Michele Bever, PhD, Executive Director works with the Board of Health and South Heartland Staff to carry out the ten essential services of Public Health, to determine public health priority goals, and to ensure implementation and evaluation of programs designed to support these goals.

Cindi McDowell, Assistant Director / Grants Admisitrator.  Cindi researches and identifies new funding sources and resources for public health programs.  She also assists with the planning, developing, implementing and evaluation of the SHDHD public Health program.

Denise Ferguson, Administrative Assistant / Financial Coordinator.  As Office Manager, Denise is responsible for the smooth operation of the day-to-day business of the agency.  As financial coordinator she processes and monitors payments and expenditures, and prepares and monitors the payroll system in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations.

Janet Staehr, RN, BSN, Public Health Outreach Nurse Educator (PHONE) Coordinator, assists persons with Medicaid or Kids Connection to obtain health care and provides information and referrals to those needing dental, medical or vision homes; provides information & education to help them maintain consistant health care & access to other resources, such as support groups & supplemental food  programs.  Janet chairs the South Central Partnership's Emergency Dental Program.

Anita Sullivan, R.N. Public Health Surveillance Coordinator.  Anita manages Hospital Influenza admissions surveillance program and the school surveillance program. She is responsible for investigation of reportable diseases,  provides health statistics and database management, and coordinates the South Heartland Infection Control Group activities. She also provides support for public health emergency preparedness activities.

Jim Morgan, Public Health Risk Coordinator
Jim Is responsible for developing and maintaining public health preparedness activities and for managing  the local Pandemic Flu, and Biopreparedness contracts with Nebraska DHHS.

Sandi Stevens, Community Health Education Coordinator.  Sandi is responsible for the planning, promotion,implementation and evaluation of public health education outreach programs.She also serves as staff resource person for health education services and prepares and disseminates health education / informational materials.  Currently she is overseeing implementation of SHDHD's Alliance for Healthy Children in Healthy Schools grant that addresses childhood obesity and the SHDHD's Wellness for Women at Work maternal and child health grant.

Desiree Rinne, Wellness Educator.  Desiree assists in the development, promotion and implementation of public health education programs in the four county district.

Janice Bank, Receptionist
Experience Works has provided Janice to us as a volunteer.  She answers phones in our office 5 Afternoons per week.
