H1N1 Flu

Human cases of H1N1 influenza A virus infection have been identified in the United States and in Nebraska.  As of June 10, 2009, no laboratory confirmed cases of H1N1 influenza A virus infection have been identified in the South Heartland Health District ( Adams, Clay, Nuckolls, and Webster Counties).

On June 11, 2009, the World Health Organization raised the global pandemic alert to Phase 6, indicating widespread human to human transmission of the novel H1N1 influenza virus.
